Welcome to the Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota Pageant homepage. We are dedicated to the communication and development of the
Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota Pageant and to encouraging the celebration of the Czech and Slovak heritage and traditions throughout
the state of Minnesota. Do you know a young woman of Czech or Slovak decent who is proud of her heritage? The state pageant
is an excellent vehicle for young women to learn more about their heritage and to help others become interested in doing the
same.
The Queen's Pageant
Each year, on the second Saturday of April, candidates from all over the state of Minnesota come to Montgomery to compete
for the title of Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota. The winner of this competition represents Minnesota at various events around
the state and at the national competition in Wilber, Nebraska. Contestants are judged in four categories: kroj (traditional
folk costume); private interview with a panel of judges; on-stage interview, and talent. Cash prizes, trophies and crowns
are awarded to the chosen Queen and Princess (first runner-up). Other awards include a grand talent winner and Miss Congeniality.
The weekend of the pageant is filled with good food, fun, and excitement.

Who Can Be a Contestant?
Any single woman between the ages of 16 and 26 with partial Czech, Slovak, or Moravian ancestry, who is a resident of
the state of Minnesota or is attending a Minnesota accredited school qualifies to run for Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota.
The contestant entrance deadline for the next pageant is March 18, 2008. Please call or email with questions or to receive
registration forms.

News and Events
The 19th Annual Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota Pageant will be held on April 12, 2008
in Montgomery, Minnesota. The event begins with an ethnic pork, dumpling, and saurkraut meal at 5pm followed
by the pageant and queen's dance at 7pm. Come for the whole evening or for just the pageant. Please call or email
Lorraine to reserve your dinner tickets in advance. Pageant and dance tickets may be purchased at the door.
Please note: Contestant entrance deadline is March 18, 2008. However, registering
early will give you more time to prepare.
Current Royalty
Our reigning queen is Leah Sticha of Montgomery, Minnesota. She was crowned the 18th Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota Queen on
April 14, 2007. At the Miss Czech Slovak USA Pageant in Nebraska on August 5th, Queen Leah was crowned 1st Runner Up for the
whole nation!
The Royalty's most recent appearance was at the Montgomery torchlight parade last Thursday evening, where they took a
Svaty Mikulás (St. Nicholas) float through the parade.
